February 2009

A firm client was charged with Domestic Assault, Reckless Discharge of a Firearm and Possession of a Firearm while under the Influence, all misdemeanors. The client had been willing to plead to the firearm charges. A jury was picked for trial on the Domestic Assault charge. Prior to trial, the prosecutor decided to dismiss the Domestic Assault charge, allowing the client to plead guilty to only the firearm violations.

February 2009

A firm client was charged with Domestic Assault 2nd offense, a misdemeanor. The case was scheduled to go to a non-jury trial before Judge Sara Smolenski of the 63rd District Court in Cascade. Prior to trial, Jerry contacted the assigned prosecutor. After discussions, it was agreed that the client could plead guilty to Disturbing the Peace, a much lesser charge.

February 2009

A firm client was charged with Domestic Assault 1st Offense, a misdemeanor. The case was scheduled to go to a non-jury trial before Judge Sara Smolenski of the 63rd District Court in Cascade. Prior to trial, Jerry contacted the assigned prosecutor. After discussions and a complete review of the evidence, the prosecutor decided to dismiss the charge.

January 2009

A firm client was charged with Assault and Battery against his wife, a misdemeanor. The case was scheduled to go to a non-jury trial before Judge Pablo Cortes of the 62-A District Court in Wyoming. On the day of trial, Jerry was able to negotiate the dismissal of the Assault and Battery charge.

April 2008

A firm client was charged with Assault and Battery against his girlfriend, a misdemeanor. The case was set for trial before Judge Peter Verslius of the 59th District Court in Grandville. Prior to trial, the case was resolved and the client pled guilty to the amended charge of Quarreling with fines and costs.
