Information About the Firm       

The Law Firm of Gerald R. Lykins, P.C, established by Gerald R. Lykins, Attorney at Law in 1998.  Gerald, more commonly referred to as Jerry, was born in Cincinnati, Ohio. He is a graduate of Miami of Ohio and he received his Juris Doctorate from Capital University Law School in Columbus, Ohio in 1994. Jerry is licensed to practice law in three states, Michigan, Kentucky, and Ohio. Jerry practiced as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for approximately 4 years prior to establishing his Law Firm. Jerry worked for two and half years with the Jefferson County Commonwealth's Attorney's Office in Louisville, Kentucky. He also worked for one year with the Kent County Prosecutor's Office in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Jerry has successfully completed courses in Drunk Driving, Trial Advocacy, and Career Prosecuting. Currently, Jerry is a member of the Grand Rapids Bar Association, Young Lawyer's Section, the American Bar Association, and the Michigan Bar Association.

The Law Firm of Gerald R. Lykins, P.C., concentrates in the following areas of the law: Criminal Law which includes all felony and misdemeanor offenses.  The Law Firm of Gerald R. Lykins, P.C., is fully insured by the Lawyer's Mutual Insurance Company.

Mission Statement

The Law Firm of Gerald R. Lykins, P.C, is dedicated to assisting clients with legal issues in a compassionate, competent and professional manner. The Law Firm will strive to understand each client's particular legal issue prior to entering into an attorney-client relationship. Once an attorney-client relationship has been established, the Law Firm will work diligently towards resolving the client's legal issue in a manner which will satisfy the client's need both legally and financially. It is the primary goal of the Law Firm to keep clients informed of major issues and decisions concerning their individual cases.

Areas of Practice

The Law Firm of Gerald R. Lykins, P.C., is capable of consulting in many different areas of law. Our primary areas of practice are all criminal defense cases in the local, state, and federal courts. Additionally, we can offer consultation in employment issues and some areas of family law.

In regards to criminal law cases, the firm handles cases in the following areas:

  • Felony cases: Murder, Criminal Sexual Conduct, Armed and Unarmed Robbery, Home Invasions, Breaking and Entering, Embezzlements, Credit Card Fraud, Retail Fraud, Uttering and Publishing, Larceny, OWI 3rd Offenses, OWI's Causing Death or Serious Bodily Injury, Drug Cases. 
  • Misdemeanor cases: Assault and Battery, Domestic Assault, OWI, Larceny, Retail Fraud, Minor in Possession, Possession and use of Marijuana, Driving on Suspended License.
